All of the below are keepsake carvings and are inspired by antique Japanese netsuke under the creation of English artists Peter Calversbert and Martin Perry who live and work in the Cotswold district of England, known for its verdant scenery and gentle fauna. These miniature sculptures are cast in crushed marble and are one of a kind.
Good Manners is a cachepot that can be used as an elegant urn or box. Carved with graceful bas-relief designs, Jardinia’s warm ivory look and feel result from the use of special crushed marble medium. The inspiration for Jardinia comes from the English Cotswolds, a region known for its natural beauty and stately elegance. Fragonard is a famous perfumery in France. A lovelorn pig has decided he’ll need a large bottle of the wonderful scent to conceal the odor of the sty while on his romantic escapades. One hoof clutches the “Pig Breeder’s Gazette” – has he been reading the personal ads? In the other hoof he holds a bunch of roses. The sack in front of him contains “Pork Scratchings,” a fried pig skin “snack” often found for sale in pubs. One evening at the pub David’s friend broke a tooth while munching on scratchings. On the interior we find a tooth and the carving “No Wis.”
